Anne Carpenter
President
Anne is currently in her last semester at Saint Xavier University. She will graduate this upcoming December with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. She has been involved with Rotaract since January 2010. Her first project as a Rotaractor was a service trip to Egypt in the Summer of 2010 to work with other Rotaractors and Rotarians to help rebuild homes in an impoverished community. As Vice President for the upcoming Rotaract year, she is looking forward to meeting new people and help plan exciting service projects!
Paul Bushno
Vice President
Paul Bushno Jr. has been a member of Rotaract of Chicago Southland since its inception. He has participated in service projects which have helped such organizations as Feeding Children Worldwide, P.A.W.S., Blue Cap School, and Together We Cope. Paul is a recent graduate of Saint Xavier University with a B.B.A. in Finance and Accounting. He has recently acquired and is looking forward to his new job at the accounting and financial services company CBIZ MHM. He is also looking forward to serving this club as its Vice President and all of the future service projects to come.

Among the many positions Deena holds, currently being the secretary for the Rotaract Club of Chicago Southland is at the top. She also is a student at Saint Xavier University pursuing a career in Secondary Education/ Biology with a minor in psychology. She is very active with different volunteering groups such as Chicago Voyagers, Kelly Hall Mentoring Program, and Islamic Relief Fund. Her first activity as a Rotaractor was a service trip to Egypt in the summer of 2010 where she aided other Rotaractors and Rotarians build homes in an impoverish community. For the upcoming Rotaract year she is very excited to launch new volunteer projects and help improve old ones.
James Cunningham
District Rotaract Representative
Jim Cunningham serves as the 2011-2012 District Rotaract Representative for the Chicagoland area. Jim first became involved with Rotary in 2006 when he became a member of the Rotary Club of Oak Lawn. In his three years with the Oak Lawn club, he served one year as Secretary, two years on the Board of Directors, and had three years of perfect attendance. He also actively participated in service projects and fundraising efforts for Park Lawn, the Dictionary Project, Crisis Center of South Suburbia, and Public Action to Deliver Shelter. Jim became a Paul Harris Fellow in 2008.
After choosing to take a leave of absence from Rotary, Jim co-founded the Rotaract Club of Chicago Southland. He became the club’s charter treasurer and has played an active role in getting the club off the ground. He was President of the club for the 2010-2011 Rotary year and enjoyed leading service projects in partnership with Polio Plus, the Animal Welfare League, Feeding Children Worldwide, and Mission Outreach.
Jim has been a cancer survivor since 2003 and has an extensive record of supporting cancer-related causes. In 2005 Jim served as Secretary of the Lymphoma Research Foundation’s Chicago Chapter. During his time with the LRF he served as a team captain for six walk-a-thons and lobbied Congress on Capitol Hill for blood cancer research funding. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the newly founded Chicago Blood Cancer Foundation. In October 2011 Jim ran the Chcago Marathon to raise money for the Chicago Blood Cancer Foundation.
